Mobile video interpreter (MVI) unit tests are completed
Thursday, 07 October 2010 13:41
mobile video interpreterThe goal of these tests was to simulated full 8-hour shift in the hospital. Several great surprises were waiting for us at the end.  Using wired and wireless connections and front facing camera we managed to get close to 5 hours of interpreting, without the need for recharge the battery. Based on our statistics of interpreters usage, we probably can expect the MVI unit to last through the entire 8-hour shift in the hospital without any problems. The device itself is very light and can be carried around. In cases when the patient is in bed and can't be positioned to see a computer monitor or a TV set, MVI can be placed directly on the chest of the patient or can be held by one of the providers.

Sound quality was exceptionally good on both sides of the connection. MVI unit features High Definition speakers and 2 stereo microphones.  Even the quietest sound was herd by the interpreter, which helped to ensure good quality of the interpreting process.

Overall, great day and great results for a little guy. Truly, the mobile device for any hospital that may need an interpreter. Full features and specifications of the MVI unit will be revealed on the 25th of October.
