Final interface for Video Remote Interpreting VRI unveiled
Tuesday, 12 October 2010 21:48
Suitable for desktops and with mobile platforms in mind the VRI interface is now ready. Interface was revamped several times during the development process and now offers all controls within a single screen. Both cameras are presented side by side and each can be expanded to the full screen when needed. Limited English proficiency (LEP) patient and healthcare provider can turn off the microphone or the camera when privacy is required. Interpreter will remain on the line, available for interpreting as soon as his or her services are needed. When interpreting is required and patient is concerned with privacy, camera can be switched off, while voice connection will still allow healthcare provider and LEP patient to communicate.

We designed the interface that can work on any desktop. With wider acceptance of the touch screen desktops and the upcoming adoption of the tablet computers were two major factors affecting the layout. New interface will help TranslationPerfect.com VRI services to be easily adopted on computers currently installed in the hospitals and will be ready for a transition to the new computer platforms, when time comes.

Interface will look identical in all versions of Microsoft Windows, starting from Windows XP, as well as Mac OS X.
